April 13th is Occupational Therapist Appreciation Day!
Meet Robin Ahlstrom, the Occupational Therapist at Sand Springs Elementary! Robin has been married for nearly 15 years and is a proud mom to three kids, ages 8, 11, and 14. Their home is full of life with two dogs and two adopted cats—especially Boots, her tuxedo cat, who has earned the nickname “boyfriend” from her husband thanks to his nightly cuddles!
Originally from near Albany, New York, Robin has also lived in Maryland and Virginia before moving to Utah in 2014. Her journey in education began with a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders, but after realizing speech-language pathology wasn’t the right fit, she returned to school. She earned her associate’s degree as an occupational therapy assistant and later completed her master’s in occupational therapy. Altogether, she has spent 19 years working in the OT field.
Robin and her family love spending time outdoors, especially when the weather is nice—whether it’s relaxing in the backyard or gathering around their Solo Stove. She also enjoys binge-watching shows with her daughters and tackling home improvement projects, big and small, as they continue to make their house their own.
Cooking is one of Robin’s greatest passions and her favorite way to show love to others. While she misses East Coast pizza, she is very happy to call Utah home and looks forward to exploring more of the state and the West Coast each summer.
We are so glad to have Robin as part of the Sand Springs Elementary family!
