We are thrilled to welcome Mel Cox back to the staff at Sand Springs—this year in a brand-new role as our computer teacher!
A few of Mel’s favorites include the color hot magenta, Alfredo pasta, Cherry Coke, Reese’s Pieces, and ice cream. When dining out, she loves Café Rio or Texas Roadhouse. Mel grew up right here in Layton and married her high school sweetheart. While they were engaged, they bought a 120-year-old home that was originally built by her husband's great-great-grandfather. They were excited to bring it back into the family and have since remodeled it while raising their three amazing kids. One of their favorite family traditions is spending a week each year at Lake Powell—it's always the best! They also enjoy camping, and while Mel loves traveling with her family, she’s definitely a homebody at heart. She enjoys knitting, baking, watching documentaries, and simply spending quality time at home with the people she loves most.
