If you are not familiar with Elementary School Counselors, you may be wondering what I do! Some ways that I support students are through classroom lessons, individual counseling, and group counseling sessions. I will be teaching multiple lessons in each classroom throughout the year. Topics may include things such as: mindfulness, kindness, stress management, problem solving, etc. I meet with students individually or in group settings for anything from social skills and classroom behavior to things like anxiety and divorce. Please contact me if you are interested in any of these services for your student. For more information about School Counselors you can visit: www.schoolcounselor.org
I have lived in Utah my entire life. I earned both of my degrees from Utah State University. GO AGGIES! I have a BS in Sociology, an M.Ed in Psychology (K-12 School Counseling), and a Certificate in College and Career Readiness. The 2019-2020 school year is my fifth as the School Counselor at Sand Springs Elementary. I love my job as an advocate for children. It is my hope that this year is a successful one for ALL students!
My husband and I live in Ogden with our new baby and two cats. When I'm not at school you can find me at Real Salt Lake games, hiking, eating pizza, or learning to navigate this thing called "parenthood!"
